Effects of long lasted civil war still impacting people in Vanni and as a result parents are unable afford for kids educational needs. Some students travel over 3 km each way on foot to school everyday through dense woods in remote locations in the region. This situation deprive the education to our future generation. Hence, JHC OBA Victoria elected to support students from selected schools in Vanni. These schools were identified from the requests directly made to us.

School uniforms, bags, shoes, and other educational material worth AUD /- were donated to over 100 underprivileged children from the selected schools.

xxxx bicycles worth AUD /- were handed to children to save their travel time and improve their safety. This will enable additional study time and coaching opportunities.

We believe these small steps would encourage the kids to attend the school regularly and focus on their studies for not only fulfill their future dream, but also securing our future generations with adequate literacy.
